The Stonemart’s One for One programme, ‘Square Meal’ is purely about positive influence – for you as our customer, for our team and all the communities in which we operate.
Since the 1st January 2022 we’ve launched this programme aimed initially at school children in India, offering them a freshly made hot school lunch. We trust that a hot meal is an incentive for parents to send their children to school rather than out to work, eventually improving their long-term health and work prospects.
Why India?
India is where our founder was born and brought-up and from where the majority of the products we sell come, so it only makes sense for us to start in our founding community. However, we hope to start making a difference in the UK soon!
How does it work?
We’ll provide meal for a hungry child for every meter of material you buy.
The Stonemart has joined hands with Bhilwara kitchen of Akshaya Patra in Rajasthan, India, to encourage children studying in Government schools to continue their education and enhance their nourishment with one healthy meal a day.
The Akshaya Patra Foundation is a not-for-profit global organisation. The Foundation strives to eliminate classroom hunger by implementing the Mid-Day Meal Programme.
Since the program’s inception in January 2022, we have provided 20,000+ square meals.
